EU Green Deal

The EU Green Deal is the European Union's comprehensive strategy to achieve a sustainable, climate-neutral economy by 2050. It aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.

The deal contains a number of policies and objectives including:

  • Supply clean, affordable and secure energy.
  • Mobilising industry for a clean and circular economy.
  • A zero-pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment.
  • Building and renovating in an energy and resource efficient way.

These policies will influence the manufacture and use of prepainted metal in the coming decades.

The Green Deal reinforces the EU's commitment to addressing climate change while fostering innovation and economic growth.
